The Sulphate of Potash Information Board (SOPIB) has established an award of 5.000$ to promote research and investigation on the use and benefits of Sulphate of Potash in agriculture. The award may be granted by SOPIB to researchers, research groups and research organizations which either 1) have carried out research on Sulphate of Potash that has led to a significant advance in crop production or higher product quality or 2) have developed and articulated a specific, concrete project for future research focusing on increased crop production or higher product quality through the use of Sulphate of Potash in agricultural systems.

Applications must be submitted to the SOPIB Agronomic Committee. To be considered for the 2009 SOPIB award, the candidate application and research paper should be submitted electronically by 15 May 2009 to the Committee's Chairman, Mr. Michel Marchand. The recipient of the Award will receive US $5,000 (five thousand US dollars) and will be invited by SOPIB to be its guest at the TFI Annual World Conference held each year in September, or other international event in August or September.
